Unleash that creative bug at The Bead Hive
By Mar-Vic Cagurangan
The Bead Hive is hosting a summer craft camp for “right-brainers or artistic kids” ages 10 and older, according to Jacqueline Sablan, the shop’s owner. The summer camp is scheduled for June 4-29 and July 2-27, with only eight slots left, Sablan said.
The Bead Hive, which has a wide selection of beads and jewelry items, is a “great place to unleash that creative bug,” Sablan said, noting that the island “is full of creative minds and crafty hands.”
From its old location in Anigua, The Bead Hive has moved to Core Tech Square on 388 South Marine Corp Drive in Tamuning.
The shop celebrated its soft opening on April 7 with a jewelry-making workshop conducted by Jamie & Jason Yoshida, special guest instructors from The Bead Gallery in Honolulu. The Bead Hive, which opened in December 2007, sells all types of beads such as glass, vintage and semi-precious stones as well as beading tools.
